A client of mine just purchased this desktop for me a couple weeks back. While it's not really optimized to play AoC to the fullest potential, it rips apart Crysis and hopefully upcoming MMO's.

Any thoughts of ways to further improve performance or changes you would make?

Thanks :)

Damn nice system... I wouldnt get crazy with the custom mods on it and void the warranty.

Despite what you hear about how bad AoC runs, your system would run it with very little problems.

Yeah I run it on high right now. There are a few exceptions of course.

I turn off shadows and see dramatic increase.

And the Villas in Noble District demolish my machine. Ever since a couple patches back, if you activate Shader 3.0, smoke + fire just bog the hell out of the FPS. I go from a nice, smooth 80 FPS, to single digits. After dropping it down to Shader 2.0 in the Villas, I run around 90 FPS.

Other than that, it runs like a dream. I did take out that Aegia Physx card for now. It was blocking the heatsync intake for my processor, and was heating up pretty nice. Runs cool(er) now. 8)

It'll do hehe. Pretty sweet rig. Hopefully you are using a 64bit OS, I don't believe the list said what bit it was.

32... I will upgrade to 64 once it becomes a bit more stable. Not ready for that yet.

64 bit vista is actually way more stable for me than the 32 bit version.

My university sells OS's for like 10 bucks. You have to sign a waiver thing, then that limits you from getting a new one. I bought a 32 bit vista over a year ago, so I'm trying to find someone to buy 64 bit for me, then I'm switching immediately. I can wait to unleash my 4 GB RAM + 1 GB Video RAM.

Hehe. My only problem is that I use my machine for quite a bit of digital media design. Some programs still don't support 64-bit to the fullest extent. So until then, 32 it is. Although I assume I could dual boot.... possibly something I could venture into.... Not sure my RAID would like it very much though..

Hi this looks like a great setup, if you would like any tweaking advice please ask because I myself have a little bit better of a rig but there isn't much (but some!) we can do
